Summary
A framed black and white photograph taken at Cherne Down in 1914 of the the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, later Captain the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, M.P., 1880-1915, as a 2nd Lieutenant in the uniform of the Devon Yeomanry, with his regimental unit and goat mascot. He is seated in the centre of the middle row. Also listed under LAN.PH.5153 as all photographs have individual PH inventory numbers. Gelatin D.O.P. mounted on an off white mount board. The mount has a beige printed line around the photograph with "Norman Taylor" "Day and Electric Studios" "74 CouLey Road, Oxford" printed underneath. "Langfier" is written in pencil on the back of the mount. The frame is painted dark green on a plaster relief. There are brass chains screwed into the bottom of the frame. The backboard is wood, held by brass pins and brown paper across the back of the frame. - SC 2003.
Provenance
Acquired during transfer of Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953. Lanhydrock was given by the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966.
