June1908. The Hon. Everilda Agar-Robartes, 1880-1969, with Viscountess Hardinge, Mr. Philip Gardner and the Hon. C.S. Rolls (pilot) in the basket of a hot air balloon ready for take-off, surrounded by a group of men and a boy. The photograph on the right shows the balloon taking off watched by a large group, a shed and buildings visible. Two of a collection of photographs of Lady Shelley's balloon party, Avington Park, near Winchester, June 1908. Provenance
Acquired during transfer of the house to the National Trust. Lanhydrock was given to the National Trust by the 7th Viscount Clifden who continued living there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966. The Hon. Everilda lived there until her death in 1969.
