Summary
Photograph, The Hon. Arthur Victor Agar Robartes, later 8th Viscount Clifden (1887-1974) by The Dover Street Studios.Framed black and white three quarter length studio photograph of Major the Hon. Victor Agar-Robartes, later 8th Viscount Clifden, 1887-1974, in military dress, wearing sword and cap with his hands behind his back, looking straight at camera. c.1916. Photograph numbered LAN.PH.5003 as all photographs have individual PH numbers. Sepia toned gelatin D.O.P. "14404/a" is written in pencil on the back of the print. There are residues of paper stuck to the back of the top edge of the print. (There was presumably a piece of paper which folded over the front of the print which is missing). The frame is strawboard covered with blue and maroon strips of cloth. The ringed support is a double layer of millboard covered with grey paper. The frame is closed with brass clasps. A thin layer of strawboard lined with pink moire effect paper is inserted behind the print. The print is by "The Dover Street Studios, 38 Dover Street, Mayfair, London, W1"
