Summary
Photograph, Varsity Drag 1901 including The Hon.Thomas Charles Reginald Agar-Robartes (1880-1915) by Gillman and Co. Ltd. (photographers) Oxford. Framed black and white photograph of the Varsity Drag Hunt,1901, the riders, including the Hon. Tommy Agar-Robartes, and hounds outside a country inn. Photograph numbered LAN.PH.5257 as all photographs have individual PH numbers. Platinum print on off-white supporting mount with two layers of the intermediate white lining paper. The print is outlined with black crayon. The supporting mount is annotated/decorated at the top with watercolour paint and is printed at the bottom "Gillman and Co. Ltd", "Oxford". There is some pencil writing on the back of the mount (as front caption). The frame is varnished wood with a gilt slip.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
