Summary

A framed and mounted black and white photograph of six young men belonging to the Beefsteak Club, Cambridge, in May 1912, showing three young men seated and three young men standing outside an ivy-clad building with trellis work at right angles to the wall. Two rugs and a large cup in the shape of a bull's head, on the ground . The names are written on the mount below the photograph: back row, left to right, W.Riley Smith. K.R.Palmer. Hon.C.E.Agar Robartes; front row, seated, Hon. M.T.Boscawen. J.H.Nettlefold.(PRES.) R.E.Davis. Absent. G.B.St.George. Photograph numbered LAN.PH.5225 as all photographs have individual PH numbers.

Provenance

A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, 7th Viscount Clifden, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and lived there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
