Summary
Photograph, Four Eton rowers and Cox on the Thames including The Hon. Cecil Edward Agar-Robartes (1892-1939). Framed and mounted black and white photograph of four rowers including the Hon. Cecil Agar-Robartes, 1892-1939, in the bows, plus cox on the River Thames at Eton. The four oarsmen wear white shirts, three with sleeves rolled up, while the cox wears a jacket and cap. On the far bank are trees and a house can be seen behind fencing in the top right hand corner. See also LAN.PH.1758. Photograph numbered LAN.PH.5246 as all photographs have individual PH numbers.
Provenance
A gift from the Hon. Gerald Agar-Robartes, later 7th Viscount Clifden, 1883-1966, who gave Lanhydrock to the National Trust in 1953 and continued to live there with his sisters, Everilda and Violet, until his death in 1966.
