Provenance
At Saltram by 1771 and thence by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and given to NT as part of the Endowment following transfer in 1957.
Marks and inscriptions
Bottom margin: Lettered in bottom margin 'Raphael Urvbinas inventor'. Artist's monogram 'B' on a dice at right.Lettered with eight lines of description in two blocks in bottom margin 'Falso sinon ...a far etterne prove'.
