Summary
Base of one of a pair of small pepper casters, sterling silver, by Cornelius Saunders and Francis Shepherd, Birmingham, 1901/1902. The caster base is oval, lobed and bulbous and chased with flowers and foliage. It has a tapering neck rising to chased flowers and ribbons and there is a stepped foot. Heraldry: Engraved on the neck with the crest of a lion rampant on a mount for an unidentified family.
