Summary
A mahogany upholstered armchair, French, circa 1820. The high padded back with an elaborately-carved top rail centred by a pierced knot and with downswept arms flanking an upholstered seat. The arm supports moulded and lappet-carved and descending to turned and lappeted front legs, once with castors. The rear legs with a pronounced sweep. Upholstered in pink, green and cream fabric woven with hunting scenes and foliage. The underside of the seat covered in a softwood board.
