Summary
A set of four white-painted wooden hall chairs, English, mid-20th century, made by John Bowman, a copy of mid- to late 18th century hall chairs found in the rubble of the chapel, completed in 1778. Each with a scalloped back terminating at its base in a scroll. The seat also scalloped and above a quatrefoil and lozenge-pierced front seat rail. Raised to the front on a pair of silhouette pierced cabriole legs, and to the rear on outswept legs. Joined by a curving 'H'-shaped stretcher.
