Summary
A mahogany folio cabinet, or library table, English, circa 1835. Topped by NT 871545, a 20th century mahogany and glazed display case. The folio cabinet with three openings to either long side, and comprising six compartments for folios each edged at the top with a tooled and scalloped leather fringe. The ends paneled and veneered in flame mahogany. The corners rounded, reeded and topped by carved anthemion. Raised on a plinth base.
Provenance
A very similar library table is in a photograph of the (then) Smoking room c.1865 and by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley and given to NT as part of the endowment following the transfer to NT on 1957
