Summary
A mahogany and rosewood veneer work table, English, circa 1835. The crossbanded and shaped oblong top above a frieze drawer. A tapering, deeper work drawer, lined with pleated pink silk, below. Raised on end supports centred by a turned upright, each on a platform and two turned bun feet, joined by a turned and lappet-carved stretcher.
Provenance
Date of acquisition not recorded; accepted in part payment of death duties by HM Treasury from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker, 4th Earl of Morley (1877 – 1951) and transferred to the National Trust in 1957.
