Summary
A pair of turtleshell, brass and ebonized wood side cabinets, English, circa 1870. Each having a top with a leaf-cast gilt brass edge above concave friezes and a glazed door enclosing a pair of shelves lined with dun-coloured velvet. The sides paneled and with leaf-cast gilt brass mounts. Veneered throughout in turtleshell inlaid with arabesques and foliage of brass and stained, coloured horn. On a cutaway plinth base with brass stringing.
Provenance
.At Saltram in 1951 and acceped by HM Treasury in part payment of Death Duty from the executors of Edmund Robert Parker and transferred to NT in 1957.
