Summary
A pair of painted and gilt mural shelves, Continental, mid- to late 19th century. Both with arched and shaped cresting and apron, decorated with gilded composition scrolls and sprays of flowers and foliage. Fitted with four shaped shelves increasing in size and lined with velvet fitted with metal studs. The backboard lined with mirror plates. Each shelf raised on four spiral-turned columns fitted with turned finials at top and bottom.

At Saltram by 1962 and part of the Endowment given to the National Trust by Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878 - 1962), 5th Earl of Morley.
