Print, mezzotint engraving, Thomas Philip (succesively) Robinson, Weddell, and de Grey, 3rd Baron Grantham, later 2nd Earl de Grey, KG, KP (1781- 1859) and his brothers Frederick John Robinson, 1st Earl of Ripon, Viscount Goderich, PC (1782 -1859) and The Hon.Philip Robinson (1783-1794) as boys (after Sir Joshua Reynolds) by Francesco Bartolozzi (Florence 1727 – Lisbon 1815). Showing Lord Grantham and Frederick and Phillip Robinson as boys against a conventional landscape background, possibly with Newby in the distance. In an 18th century moulded gilt frame.
Provenance
A print with the title 'Lord Grantham & his two brothers' is included in a manuscript list c. 1902 of prints at Saltram, believed to be in the handwriting of Albert Edmund Parker(1878-1905), 3rd Earl of Morley and by descent to Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962) and formed part of the endowment given to NT following the transfer of the property etc in 1957.
