Summary
One of a set of thirty one octagonal plates from a Chinese famille rose dinner service. Decorated with peonies in the centre and peonies and other flowers in irregular shaped reserves.
Full description
Believed to have been acquired by a member of the junior branch of the Parker family who resided at Whiteway House, Chudleigh, Devon and by inheritance to Albert Edmund Parker (1843-1905), 3rd Earl of Morley and by descent to Edmund Robert Parker (1877-1951), the 4th Earl of Morley and accepted by HM Treasury from his Executors in lieu of payment of Death Duty and transferred to NT in 1957.
