Summary
Ewer, ironstone china, ovoid body and spreading foot, flaring lip with scalloped rim, reeded sectional handle with thumb rest, probably Staffordshire, 1830-40; transfer printed in blue with a Chinoiserie pattern with flowering shrubs, a fence and scholar’s rock, picked out in red enamel, the handle, rim and parts of the pattern decorated with blue glaze.

At Saltram by 1957 and given to NT by Montagu Brownlow Parker (1878-1962), 5th Earl of Morley as part of the Endowment
