Summary
Mahogany longcase clock. Maker A. Simpson, Cockermouth, 1820. Clock face painted with black numerals, gilt fan patterned spandrels and filigree brass pointers, second and date dial above, painted inset shows phases of the moon. Hood has inlaid brass decoration and swan-neck pediment, brass phoenix ball and carved fluted columns. Fluted pilasters also to trunk which is inlaid with boxwood stringing and maple banding, bracket supports.
