Summary
A vinyl and chromed-steel 'Kilta' chair, one of a set of four, Finnish, designed by Olli Mannermaa, circa 1950s, manufactured by Martela and retailed by Twentytwentyone, circa 2008, with cut-out to the base of the backrest, shaped armrests, on four tubular chromed-steel legs with black-plastic feet, upholstered to the front and tops of the armrests in 'Classic Black' vinyl, the sides and rear upholstered in brown woven fabric. With a small integral black fabric label woven with 'Martela' to the underside, the underside also applied with a small paper label marked 'Martela/ 4.2008'. These chairs are replacements for four chairs (NT 864301.1-.4) originally at The Homewood which were purchased by Patrick Gwynne in the 1960s. These chairs are of a similar style to the Eero Saarinen chairs found in the dining room and two of the bedrooms.
