Summary
A built-in laminate and mahogany bedroom unit including a wardrobe and dressing table, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, mid-20th century, a large mahogany tambour door covering a wardrobe space to the right with brass hanging rails and a column of sliding tray drawers, and a recessed vanity unit to the left covered with white laminate, the top inset with a sink to the right hand side, the frieze with a chromed towel rail to the right and a drawer to the left, the table top affixed to the wall with no legs, the wall above the table top fitted with mirrorplates, the area above the sink with a rectangular alcove also back with mirrorplate, the right hand wall with hanging towel loop, the left with moveable projecting mirror and light switch, the ceiling of the dressing table inset with circular ceiling light.
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
