Summary
A built-in laminate and mahogany bedroom unit including a wardrobe and dressing table, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, mid-20th century, a large mahogany tambour door covering a wardrobe space to the left with brass hanging rails and a column of sliding tray drawers, and a recessed vanity unit to the right covered with white laminate, the top inset with a sink to the left hand side, the frieze with a chromed towel rail to the left and a drawer to the right, the table top affixed to the wall with no legs, the wall above the table top fitted with mirrorplates, the area above the sink with a rectangular alcove also back with mirrorplate, the left hand wall with hanging towel loop, the right with moveable projecting mirror and light switch, the ceiling of the dressing table inset with circular ceiling light.
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
