Summary
A wall-mounted black- and white-painted beech, leathercloth and aluminium cabinet/planning chest, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, circa 1960s, the cabinet runs the length of one curved wall suspended above the floor, the ebonized top with curved edge to the rear, the top rear edge applied with several curved aluminium strips possibly to support items leaning against the wall, the straight front with aluminium strip running along the front edge, the front with four white-faced rows, this front divided into columns and the containing variously sized drawers including drawers for a typewriter, stationary and architectural drawings, a strip of aluminium and leathercloth running along the bottom edge of the cabinet.
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
