Summary
A white-painted steel and mesh low planter, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, circa 1960s, of rectangular form, the square-section steel frame with mesh panels, on four square-section legs, fitted with four aluminium containers and with four spare. The planter was designed with two sets of containers so that the flowers in the planter could be changed easily during the year. Patrick Gwynne preferred dwarf tulips in Spring and tuberous begonias in Summer. The planter was originally located on the balcony at The Homewood along with four white-painted garden chairs (NT 864350) and a white-painted circular table (NT 864351).
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
