Summary
A fiberglass and aluminium chair, British, designed by Charles Eames for Herman Miller, circa 1950s, manufactured by Hille International Ltd, circa 1960s/70s, the moulded seat with loose black leather cover, the rotatable and height adjustable seat on a single black-painted steel column and four aluminium splayed arms, each arm painted black to the sides terminating in white-plastic disc feet. Used as a piano stool by Patrick Gwynne's friend the pianist Geoffrey Rand.
Provenance
The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
