Summary
A 'Kingston' stool, British, designed by William Plunkett, 1967, the seat formed of four foam rolls glued to a plywood frame, the foam rolls upholstered in pale grey fabric (re-upholstered 2002), the stool raised on two pairs of aluminum legs with outturned ends, each pair supported on a slightly raised bar. This stool, a pair of low-back chairs (NT 864333.1 & .2) and a high-back chair (NT 864331) are part of the Kingston Range, designed by William Plunkett in 1967. It was designed as a flexible seating system, which later came to be known as the Plunkett Plan.

Purchased by Patrick Gwynne in the late 1960s for The Homewood.
