Summary
An American walnut table, British, designed by Patrick Gwynne, circa 1960s, the rectangular table top covered in brown leathercloth, the main body of the table slimming to a wedge shape at either end, on long side centred by a drawer with an oblong cut-out handle, the other side of the table top with a lift-up lid which opens to reveal a storage space, the interior of the drawers and storage space lined with black leathercloth, the table on four bronze legs with supporting struts. Patrick Gwynne used the table for dining and for film editing, the section with the lift-up cover was used to house a cinema film editor. The table top was originally covered in pigskin leather but Patrick Gwynne found it unsuitable due to its tendency to stain and it was replaced with leathercloth.
