Summary
A black-painted steel 'Diamond Chair', designed by Harry Bertoia (1915-1978), circa 1952, manufactured in the U.S.A from circa 1953., retailed in Rheims, France, the moulded seat, back and armrests formed of a sheet of latticed steel rods, supported on a black-painted tubular steel base with two pairs of legs, each pair joined by a floor stretcher, with a white fitted cover to replace the worn out original. The white fitted cover (NT 864571) made using Kvadrat Hallingdal 100 was purchased in 2008, manufactured by Knoll, retailed by Twentytwentyone.
Provenance
Patrick Gwynne purchased this chair in Rheims, France, circa 1953-1999. The Homewood and some of its contents were given to the National Trust by Patrick Gwynne in 1999.
