Summary
Smith Electric mains synchronous 'mystery clock'. Square, chrome-plated case with glass dial showing no apparent means by which the hands are caused to move. Triangular aluminium hands with black-painted detail mounted to central round gear box. Black Arabic hour numerals, in square silver cartouches with black outline, printed on the glass dial. 'SMITH ELECTRIC' also printed on the dial between the centre and twelve o'clock position. Mechanism in the base in brown plastic housing with mouldings detailing the relevant patents on the bottom '374715, 366710, 11068/34'. White printed 'SES' trademark also on the bottom. Brown braided wiring still present.
