Summary
Fan. Leaf of satin decorated with gold sequins. Ivory sticks fretted and dotted with gold. Labelled 'Belonged to Mrs. Marshall and left by her to AFTB 1914'. Probably French, C19. Printed label 'c.1830. Bone monture. Sticks and guards pierced with a geometric pattern and engraved circles filled in with gold leaf? Double satin, white, leaf embroidered with gold sequins interlined with paper. Mother-of-pearl button with attrictive metal loop and important silk tassel with opalene beads'. 14 sticks and 2 guards.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
