Summary
Rim for ice pail liner, sterling silver, by William Fountain, London, 1810/11. The plain rim is raised and has a dished profile, a narrow flat outer edge and wide central opening conforming with applied seamed bezels. A rectangular seamed wire is applied under the outer edge of the rim to give strength and to secure it in position in the pail. This rim does not have the identifying pinhole found on its liner and the associated ice pail but these are 852069.3 and 852069.1.
