Summary
Print, mezzotint, Elizabeth Felton, Countess of Bristol (1676-1741) (after Michael Dahl) by John Simon (Normandy c. 1675 – London 1754). Half-length portrait, head inclined to the right, wearing a shawl over her head and round her shoulders. She holds a book upright on her knee with her left hand. Oval, black and white print. 'M. Dahl pinx, J. Simon fecit, Sold by E. Cooper, 3 Pigeons, Bedford Street'.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
