Summary
Leather writing case. Tooled green leather, concertina style. With flap lid with lock and brass handle with name plate inscribed 'KJJ and coronet'. Green leather strap with key attached. Inside flap black tooled leather pocket with flap. Inner space lined with black tooled leather. Contents - collection of rough cut laid paper, watermarked 'W' and 'Fleur de Lys'; selection of mourning stationery - writing paper, notelets large and small; plain folded paper; 1 plain envelope; 2 small black cardboard boxes containing seal wafers 'J' and 'B'; length of green silk thin ribbon.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
