Summary
A mahogany standing desk, English, circa 1815 The hinged sloped fall with a leather inset gilt tooled writing surface enclosing a well, above two drawers and with hinged leaves to the sides held by retractable lopers, raised on reeded turned legs tied by a shelf stretcher, terminating on brass castors.
Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
