Summary
A mahogany and brass mounted writing table, after a design by Thomas Chippendale, English, circa 1870 The raised inverted breakfront superstructure with a pair of drawers flanking seven Pigeon holes. The writing surface with leather inset and serpentine moulded front edge with three drawers to the kneehole and raised on cabriole legs with gilt brass scroll and floral cast mounts and sabots,with carrying handles to the sides. The back with three false drawer fronts. The drawers with chubb locks, stamped with the makers mark and bearing serial numbers (659346).

Provenance
Part of the Bristol Collection. Loaned to the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund, and then transferred to the National Trust in 1983.
