Summary
One of a set of twelve rosewood dining chairs, by Banting, France and Co. London circa 1830 The top rail with moulded scrolled edge carved with leaf and scroll decoration, the horizontal stretcher also scroll carved, the overstuffed seat upholstered in a green silk damask edged with green silk gimp, with moulded edge and raised on lappet carved fluted turned tapered legs. Pencil markings to some of the seat rails relating to the construction '1x3 inch rail'

Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund
