Summary
One of a pair of rosewood and brass inlaid games tables, possibly by Banting, France & Co. London, circa 1820 The sliding central panel inlaid on one side with a chess board and enclosing a leather lined back gammon board flanked by rounded ends with a pierced brass gallery. The single drawer below inlaid with brass arabesques and raised on twin liar shaped end supports with brass spindles joining rectangular plinths also inlaid with brass and molded hipped down swept legs and lions paw cast castors. The end supports joined by a lappet carved turned stretcher.

Part of the Bristol Collection. Acquired by the National Trust in 1956 under the auspices of the National Land Fund, later the National Heritage Memorial Fund
