Summary
Two 'Best Light' anglepoise lamps with black and chrome swivel base for slotting into metal bracket on the wall. 1920s/1930s original to the house. Chrome arm with off-white metal shade. One in Turret dressing room , the other in Rupert's dressing room.
Provenance
BestLites lamps manufactured by Best & Lloyd Ltd in Birmingham. The name BestLite is on the chrome wall bracket. The company was started in 1840 by R H Best and one of his family R D Best visited the Bauhaus in Germany and designed the BestLite range upon his return to the UK. The range included floor lamps, table and desk lamps and smaller wall lights.
