Summary
A fountain figure of a winged small boy (putto) holding a wriggling dolphin, mounted on a hemisphere. The model is a copy of an original bronze fountain figure by Andrea del Verrocchio, now in the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, but originally made around the 1480s for the Medici Villa in Careggi, near Florence. The figure now on display is a modern reproduction, made to replace an example stolen on 30 October 1991, and installed in April 1994.
