Summary
Eighteenth century eight day long case clock by Heely of Deptford with 12" brass and silvered break arch dial with strike/silent in the arch and second hand. Japanned hood with turned columns and rounded pediment and gilded fire-like finials. Japanned trunk with shaped-topped, laquered door. Pagoda top hood with blank panel to front, gilt-wood capped columns and glazed windows to sides, and surmounted by three gilt-wood flaming urn finials. The hood/hood door are lockable with an iron hasp in the hood door and iron bolt in the trunk. Break arch, japanned trunk door and low base without skirting. Note: The blank panel in the hood front probably originally contained a sound-fret. The base has been cut down as has the backboard and would originally have been taller, with a deep skirting. The seconds hand is a later replacement
