Summary
A carved oak bureau or writing desk, English, circa 1920. The sloping lid enclosing a fitted interior of pigeon holes and four small drawers and surmounted by a superstructure of pigeon holes with three-sided gallery, on double-action gateleg stand with block and ball-turned legs joined by stretchers.
Provenance
Acquired by the Colyer-Ferguson family for Ightham Mote between 1889 and 1951, and purchased by Mrs Lade of Yaldham Manor at the Ightham Mote sale of 1951.
