A cherry and walnut smoker's bow armchair, High Wycombe, circa 1870. The arched continuous armbow with scroll terminals and raised on a turned spindle gallery, the walnut seat on baluster turned legs joined by an H-stretcher.

A very similar chair was advertised in the catalogue of Glenister and Gibbons of High Wycombe (fl. 1865 - 1879) and illustrated in Bernard Cotton 'The English Regional chair', page 97, Fig.TV233, courtesy of High Wycombe Chair Museum.
