Summary
A hollow ivory knife handle/ornament with tapering straight sides and carved in relief with naive depiction of Adam and Eve on one side, on the other a male figure in 18th century costume.
Provenance
Darby collection; Christy collection. This knife handle was given to William Christy by his mother's cousin, Ester Reynolds. It was later passed on to his son, Alexander Christy.

'This was given to Wm.Christy when a little boy by Ester Reynolds of Carshalton his mother's cousin. W.C.gave it to Alex.C.' (accompanying hand written note)
