Summary
A set of four curtains. Ivory silk warp, ivory cotton weft. Warp faced satin ground, weft faced motifs. Neo-Classical design: tied ribbons holding medallions with two birds and garlands of flowers. Heading band straight and attached to rail with pulley system. Lined and interlined throughout.
Provenance
The fabric was bought by Sir George Labouchere for his wife as a birthday gift in Spain, it cost £1.00 a yd. There was a hundred yards in total. c.1966. and Colefax and Fowler devised the scheme when Dudmaston was refurbished in c.1966.
