Summary
Brass sculpture, Interlocking Arcs by Anthony Twentyman (1907 - 1989), 1970. Abstract form of two angular brass arcs, interlocking and resting on circular black marble base, polished surface. Anthony Twentyman was a personal friend of Sir George and Lady Rachel Labouchere who patronised his work. He came from a Wolverhampton family of exporters and lived near Dudmaston A number of other sculpture pieces by Twentyman can be seen within both the house and grounds at Dudmaston. These include the slate and brass 'Abstract Plaque’ from 1970 (National Trust Inventory Number 814363), ‘Altar Cross’ a slate sculpture on a solid rectangular base, also from 1970 (National Trust Inventory Number 814367) and the granite memorial to Sir George Labouchere’s dogs Katie and Jenny from 1974 (National Trust Inventory Number 814381).
