Summary
Long-necked stringed instrument. A hybrid of two pre-existing instruments and was probably intended to be regarded as a chitarrone or its smaller relative the chitarrino. The instrument is decorated with inlaid mother of pearl and fine carving. Hybrid creations generally date from the late 19th century/early 20th century and were aimed at the tourist market in north Italy.
