A medallion presented to Christopher Hussey in recognition of his various writings for Country Life Magazine as well as his published works on such themes as the picturesque. His grandfather Edward Hussey III built the new house and landscaped the gardens at Scotney based on picturesque principles.

This item was accepted by HM Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust under the terms of the will of Mrs Christopher Hussey, who died in April 2006.
