Summary
A mahogany half-tester bedstead, English, circa 1840. The moulded canopy fitted with a valance and brass rail from which to hang the drapes, the foot-board shaped, panelled and flanked by baluster columns topped with gadrooned finials, the side rails supporting a box-spring and mattress.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
