Summary
A maple and burr-elm tall chest of drawers, Dutch, circa 1820-1840. Rosewood crossbanded and chequer-strung, the six long graduated drawers with oval brass handles and escutcheons, flanked by canted angles with half-columns and gilt-metal Corinthian capitals, standing on short square tapering legs.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey. Introduced into the collection at Scotney by Christopher and Elizabeth Hussey in 1952, bringing it with them from Froyle, Hampshire.
