Summary
A black and gold lacquer work or sewing box, Chinese Export, circa 1850. Decorated with pagoda landscape scenes, the hinged moulded lid above friezes of ogee profile and with a pull-out slide below, now lacking the sewing basket, raised on twin ebonised baluster column support with arched feet joined by a turned stretcher.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
