Summary
A papier-mache floral-painted and mother-of-pearl inlaid pedestal games table, English, circa 1840. The circular tip-up top set as a chess board with alternating black and mother of pearl inlaid squares, the border with floral bouquets, raised on a baluster column with splayed S-scroll legs, bearing a paper label 'Hussey'.
Provenance
Part of the Hussey collection. The contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 2006 by Mrs. Elizabeth Hussey.
